Kika

We have had a very sad week so far. This past Sunday we had to have our little Schnauzer, Kika, put to sleep. She got very ill on Saturday evening and by Sunday afternoon could not even walk. The veterinarian said that she had probably had a stroke or tumor of some kind. She lived with us for 9 1/2 years, which may sound old, but isn't really that long for a small dog. I was surprised at how sad I am. I guess once she was gone I realized how much a part of our family that she was and how used I was to having her follow us around. Our home just feels a little emptier now.

She quickly learned to love Kat because she knew that Kat would walk her.
She even took the humiliation we put her through.
This is her just a few weeks ago.
We will miss her.

  3. I remember the day Eric got Kika for you guys. What a fun Christmas present that was! We like people like you who treat their pets like family - pays the mortgage. Really, we loved Kika too! Where is a pic of you and Kika?

  6. So sorry about that cute little dog! We have had our Bullet now for 12 years and he is getting very old. Does not hear the door bell anymore and his eye sight isn't what it used to be. He is Jake's dog and he's a little worried he won't be here when he gets back from his mission. I'm hoping he makes it. So I can totally relate to having a dog follow you everywhere you go in the house. And I can just imagine the loss! I never thought I would feel that way about a dog! Oh and by the way, tell Wendell, love his beanie in the picture! Looks so hip!
