Ward Camp 2009

Ward Camp! You've gotta love it. Just look at the size of this crab. Who wouldn't want to grab hold of that?

Every night everyone just brought what they had for dinner and shared. That way there was always something that you liked.
On Wednesday night we met for book club. We read The Hunger Games and had snacks delivered by parachute from our sponsor.

One afternoon Wendell and I saw a wild peacock and her 4 baby chicks on the side of the road. If you enlarge this picture you can see the chicks beside her. I don't think we ever had wild peacocks in Illinois.

We spent our afternoons at the really beautiful beach. This is Kathleen after she had been body boarding.

And here she is while she is body boarding.

Ryan got a really mean sting from a Portugese Man-o-war. He said it really stung when it happened but the worst part was the days of itching afterwards.

Matthew and Kat came out on Friday and even spent the night. Kat is such a good sport.

And of course the yearly football game on the beach.
That's Wendell in the white shorts.

I'm not sure what Matthew is doing with the Bocci ball, but it looks pretty cool.

It's really too bad that Wendell can't get as tan as me. He still looks good though. Each night we gather at the campfire for a while. One night each auxilary had to act out a Book of Mormon story. I am being the tree of life from Lehi's dream.

And here is Bishop Jung being Bishop Jung.

with a little help from Jr. Jung.

Kathleen was pretty tired by Saturday morning.

And Ryan had his arm chopped off by Asher. Ryan didn't seem to mind too much though.

If you want to make me really happy and have a great time too, then you should come to ward camp next year.

would be in heaven. It looks so fun and relaxing. I hate camping but then again I've never camped on a gorgeous beach in Hawaii with my beautiful talented and tan sister. I wish I could see Ryan in real life. It's been a long time and I miss that boy. Love you!

  9. That kind of camping looks fun---even to me---a complete non-camper. I could bring a big jug of sunscreen and just enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Kat looks great----not very big at all!
    Very nice picture taking!
