Last week we attended (and helped with) the Jung Family Reunion. There were about 120 Jungs from various parts of Hawaii and the mainland. It was fun to find out how everyone was connected to Wendell's grandparents and their eight children. Wendell's father, Walter, is the youngest of those eight.

The first night we had a reception at Queen Emma's Summer Palace in Nu'uanu.

We went out back to take a few family photos.

Wilson decided we should take engagement pictures. Nice.

There are a lot of male Jungs. Wendell's oldest cousin has 8 grandsons that are all around the same age. They had a great time running around in Walter's backyard.

One day we had a luau at Walter's house.

We all wore our red Jung t-shirts.

We had a family talent show. I decided not participate because I didn't want anyone to feel bad about themselves.

Kathleen and Jessie (Wendell's sister) danced hula.

Walter played the ukulele while Jessie and Nicole sang.

The last day we had a picnic at Punalu'u.

And what would a Chinese family reunion be without a few games of Mahjong?

Kathleen had had it.

On the way back to Mililani a few of us stopped at the visitor's center to see the Reflections of Christ exhibit.

I walked up and took a few pictures of the temple while it is being renovated. I figured I probably will never see it like this again.
I love family reunions! Such a good looking family.
ReplyDeleteI liked how you had the chinese characters for Jung on your t-shirts. What does Jung mean?
I love all your matching shirts. I can't wait till we get to go to the Phipps reunion next summer.
