Wendell took some pictures with my little digital camera, but you can't really tell the size of the waves. I just put this picture in so that you could see all of the people that were there. Really you can't even tell that from this picture. The news reported that there were about 30,000 people jammed into Waimea Bay. The next picture is of Kelly Slater just before paddling out for his heat. He finished 2nd.

Hahaha, I wish I was there too! Even if I did have to fight crowds and traffic. Sigh, the things that Hawaii has that Utah doesn't. Oh well, I hope Uncle Wendell and Ryan had lots of fun and I'm glad that you really love sitting at your desk and staring at your computer. I do too, especially when fun things are happening all around.:-)
ReplyDeletematt went the day before at 6 something but it was kind of junky he really wanted to go yesterday but decided not to fight it. 2 of our teachers didn't make it to work they said the traffic was too bad! would have loved to have seen it!
