Temple Open House

The temple in Laie has been closed for almost 2 years now while undergoing major renovations. Now that they are finished there has been an open house going on for the past three weeks. This is so the general public can come and see the temple before it is dedicated and only worthy church members can go through.

This picture was taken by someone that lives here in Hawaii. Kat's mom knows her, so she sent it to me. We thought it was sort of amazing how it's a full rainbow and the temple is centered under it.
I attended the open house 4 times. Once with Wendell, Matthew, Kat, Evalyn, and Ryan. It was nice to be there together. Evalyn wanted to get down and run around though. She also really liked to touch the crystals on the lights in the brides room. I went a second time with some of the women from work. And a third time with the relief society. We all rode down on a bus. The picture above is of the women who went that day.

The last day that I went was with our ward. It was our turn to provide volunteers to be ushers, parking lot attendants, and other things. Wendell and I were able to be tour guides, so we were inside most of the time. We took several tours through and the day went very quickly. Wendell usually led the tour and I followed. He tried to get me to give the tour a few times, but I didn't want to. The last group we took though was so large that we had to split it. So, I had to give the tour. I had heard Wendell do it enough that I did fairly well. At least no one gave me a thumbs down as they left. We got rained on after we came out and so of course that's when I decided to take a picture. Don't worry mom, I have since had my haircut.
