Off to Provo

Last week Kathleen and I were off to Provo where she will go to BYU. We had a really great time just being with my sister and her daughters. I forgot to take pictures right away, but I made up for it later.

Mallory, Lexie, and Kathleen after they picked up some of their textbooks.

Lexie's newly decorated dorm room.

One Freshman, one Junior - both new.

We spent some time shopping. Mallory decided she liked the Unabomber look.

Everyone was getting a little sick of it after a while.

Here's Kathleen in her apartment after all of the shopping, but before she got everything put away. She probably has a picture on her blog of how it looks now.

We ate at JDawgs on Friday night and then headed up the canyon to Sundance.
The polish dog I had was really good. I especially liked the secret sauce.

I don't know what the conversation is at this point, but Kendall and Kathleen look like something is making them sick.

Mindy and I decided it might be fun to ride to Sundance with Kendall and Mal.

It was fun....

I especially loved the part where I told Mallory to turn around so I could take her picture and then Kendall decided he wanted to be in it too while driving 80 miles an hour on a windy road.

Chelsea and Mindy eating really good caramels at a shop at Sundance.

I broke my shoe and so Mindy and I waited at the Sundance motorpool for Burke to come and pick us up.

This is Kathleen in her living room with her roommate, Barrit. (I don't think I am spelling her name right). They hadn't planned on dressing alike, but when Barrit came back from spending the night at her parent's house she was wearing the same thing as Kathleen. We thought it was a good sign.

Living room from a different view.

Sunday evening we all walked up to campus so that Kathleen and Lexie would be able to find their classes the next day. It was a really beautiful evening and we enjoyed walking around campus.

Brittney and Lindsey Allen, Kathleen, Barrit, Mallory, Kendall. If someone will tell me how to spell Barrit's name I will go back and edit this.

In the "Tree of Life"

Burke kept us all entertained (he's very good at that). At this point everyone just sat down on this bench for a minute and Burke decided it was a good opportunity to play a game, so he made one up. It was called "Magic Square". Some people were very good at it. I truly wish I had a picture of Mallory and her last turn.

Kathleen, Chelsea, and Mindy

Tuesday morning before I went to the airport, I stopped by to say goodbye to Kathleen. I made her stand outside of her apartment before I drove her up to campus (which is about a block away). I have talked to her several times since then, and I'm sure if you have looked at her blog, you can tell she's having a great time.

Remember when we were looking for a not so good picture of Mindy and all we could find were bad pictures of us... Well hold on to the wind blown one, it might come in handy.

  6. I'm excited, if I wanted to I could go see Kathleen right now. Unfortunately, it would take me 10 hours to get there. Hmmmmm, I will have to plan that into one of my adventures. I just love Kathleenie Beanie. Glad you were able to be with Mindy and her fam, they seem like a good time.

  12. How fun for you Sondra getting to have some quality girl time. I can't say that I have had that ever! You will have to tell Kathleen that I have 3 neices attending BYU also - Chelsea and Brittney Broadhead and Jenni Boyle. Wouldn't that be funny if they met.
